King’s College London has announced that Dr Lerong Lu, Reader in Law and Director of Postgraduate Studies at The Dickson Poon School of Law, has been recognised as the 2025 faculty winner of the King’s Supervisory Excellence Award for the Dickson Poon School of Law. The award forms part of the university’s annual recognition of outstanding doctoral supervision and support across King’s.

Organised by the King’s Doctoral College, the Supervisory Excellence Awards celebrate best practice in doctoral supervision and highlight the important role supervisors play in the doctoral student experience and academic success of doctoral researchers. The 2025 winners were announced on 8 December 2025, following more than 250 nominations from doctoral students and staff across the university, with the award ceremony having taken place on Friday 28 November.
This recognition reflects Dr Lu’s sustained commitment to doctoral supervision, academic mentoring, and research training within the Law School. The Law School’s official LinkedIn announcement notes that he was the sole recipient from the Law Faculty and highlights his supervision of more than seven Law PhD students at King’s, as well as his support for their career development, with many progressing to lectureships at Russell Group universities and international institutions.
The award marks an important acknowledgement of Dr Lu’s contribution to postgraduate research culture at King’s College London and to the development of emerging scholars in law and related fields. It also reflects the wider strength of doctoral supervision within The Dickson Poon School of Law and its continued commitment to research excellence.
