King’s–Freshfields Joint LLM Dissertation Workshop Held in London

Freshfields’ London office at 100 Bishopsgate

King’s College London and Freshfields jointly held a dissertation workshop on 18 June 2026 at Freshfields’ London office at 100 Bishopsgate.

The workshop formed part of the collaboration between The Dickson Poon School of Law and Freshfields, a leading international law firm, on the LLM Law & Technology pathway. Through this partnership, selected Freshfields future trainees are able to undertake a fully funded LLM at King’s and develop specialist knowledge at the intersection of law, technology and legal practice.

The workshop was led from King’s by Dr Lerong Lu, Director of Postgraduate Studies and Pathway Lead for the LLM Law & Technology programme, together with colleagues from the Law School and Executive Education. Freshfields mentors and representatives from its Early Careers Development team also participated.

Learners involved in the collaboration presented their developing dissertation research and received feedback from King’s academic advisers and Freshfields mentors. The discussions enabled participants to refine their arguments, consider the practical relevance of their research and reflect on the impact of artificial intelligence and digital transformation on legal services.

The event reflected the shared commitment of King’s and Freshfields to supporting the next generation of legal professionals and strengthening the connection between advanced legal education, academic research and international legal practice.

Both institutions look forward to continuing the partnership and supporting future cohorts of the King’s–Freshfields LLM Law & Technology programme.
